Program Overview

Tech Launch is a hands-on, competency-based IT support and workforce training program that helps you gain the skills, experience, and confidence to succeed in tech.

You’ll combine technical training, professional development, and career coaching in a supportive, tight-knit learning environment. Our hybrid model blends online and in-person classes, projects, and labs. You’ll also complete a capstone project and Google IT Support Professional Certificate, intern with one of our employer partners and participate in supported job placement activities—leaving the program ready to start or advance your IT career.

FAQs

  • The Tech Launch program operates twice a year, with cohorts in the Fall and Spring.

  • Applications typically open in June for the Fall cohort and November for the Spring cohort.

  • There are no monetary fees associated with participation in this program. However, members will have to invest an incredible amount of energy and time into the program.

  • Some comfort with Windows-based computers is helpful, but full training is provided.

  • The process includes:

    • Online application (20–30 minutes)

    • General interest and demographic questions

    • Technical assessment (15 minutes)

    • Interview (20 minutes)

  • The 18-week program includes 14 weeks of classes and a 4-week internship.


    Classes meet Monday–Friday, 5 hours per day, in a hybrid format—at least 2 days per week in person at Tech Foundry’s downtown Springfield, MA campus.

  • Over 440 hours of combined experiences:

    • Technical courses and hands-on labs

    • Tutoring and career coaching

    • Leadership and professional development

    • Capstone project and internship

    • Job placement assistance

    • Google IT Support Professional Certificate and scholarships for additional Google certificates and CompTIA certifications

  • During week 14, students complete a final project that demonstrates their technical skills and creativity. Projects can be student-proposed or recommended by staff.

  • Before starting, explore basic hardware and software troubleshooting. Tech Foundry provides all necessary equipment, curricular materials and guidance during the program.

    • 18+ years old with high school diploma, Hi-SET, or GED

    • Ability to commit to the full 18-week program

    • Entry-level computer skills and technical proficiency

    • Professional English proficiency

    • Authorization to work in the United States
